Hi folks
I have been a bit absent here but just to wish you a LUSH summer solstice, if you do celebrate it. I made a fire at sundown and myself and one of best friends just chatted and put the world to rights until late. We also nearly set fire to one of the ask trees. Was a lucky escape!
Drank some mead (it’s strong) and just finished it off now. Am in the creative flow now (The Mead of Inspiration and all that - I am an Odinist after all)
Last night was so hot and stuffy. We are not used to that in England. My littlest boy could not sleep and so I gave up and we got up, exactly around the time of sunrise. He did fall back to sleep but I could not and so sat out front on my doorstep with a coffee, greeted the sun, said a few words to the Gods and felt really happy and blessed.
Someone left this at my gate last week. Goodness knows who!! but it came in really handy for putting some words on there to read. Think it’s some kind of bible stand and we live in a Vicarage so they probably thought the vicar needed one.
Right am off to enjoy the garden and do a BBQ with the kids.
Oh and i’m going to write about the joys of “wood ‘ygling” soon - if anyone knows what that is! (let me know what you call it please…)

Great post and you are inspiring me to finish mine! By the way, those Bible stands come in really handy for big books (Oxford English Dictionaries if you love old etymologies), and spreading out papers to type, transcribe, etc. And for reading during solo meals, if you like to do that. I have a couple of them that are wooden, can be folded up/ flattened for storage. And happy Summer! I also woke up pre-dawn yesterday… it seems to happen every Solstice… kind of beautiful.
