Here is a little snippet of when we were playing at a local forest school here in Notts, in Sherwood Forest.
The Wobbly Bodger was there somewhere nearby doing his woodcarving and Hem, who runs Green Scene Forest School, was also making a spoon I think. You can probably hear them close by.
But best of all is the sound of the birds - gosh I have really missed that over the winter!!
We have often gone to Hem’s forest school days with the kids and ended up playing some impromptu tunes round the fire. It was a lifeline during lockdown when these sessions were still going ahead for home-educated groups. I even did the outdoor bread baking sessions on the fire.
I love this song - it’s so mysterious and beautiful - a gorgeous Irish tune. Here’s a nice version from Sinead O’Conner
Till next time :)
